Environmental and conservation issues are intricately tied to poverty, education, and health and subsequently to concerns of S.R. Society. The organization’s natural resource management activities aim at improving rural communities’ living standards by means of regeneration, protection and development of sustainable agriculture, and livestock/ pastureland - development and physical interventions. With the support and guidance of Rajeev Gandhi Drinking Water Mission, S.R. Society began a sector Reform, Swajal Dhara and Total Sanitation Program in Jaipur, Sikar, Bundi, and Tonk districts. In conjunction with IGSSS, CRS, and EEJP, SR Society launched Improving the Environment through community participation and sustainable development. The organization facilitates workshops, exhibitions, public rallies, lectures, and art and literary competitions to address solid waste management, clean and green environments, recycling, water/soil-conservation, plant protection etc. S.R. Society initiated drought relief interventions with the help of the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), USA Aid, and Catholic Relief Services, Mumbai. Drought proofing measures included the construction of Anicuts, Medbandi, and land leveling, digging ponds, deepening wells, and repairing irrigation canals. Under Drought Mitigation Project (DMP) construction/repairing of 40 Water Harvesting tanks is planned. IEC activities, VDC and trainings for water quality, District Bhilwara, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Barmer and Jaisalmer Beneficiaries 8760 in National Rural Drinking Water, Quality, Monitoring and surveillance Programme with the support of CCDU, UNICEF & Govt. of India. Also worked for National Drinking Water Security Pilot Project in Raipur Block of District Bhilwara with support of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, world Bank, PHED Rajasthan. Society is working with sir Dorabji TATA Trust from 2011 for Enhancing the social and economic status of 50 SHGs and 500 families, with the development of Plantation of 60000 fodder trees in 9 villages of Jaipur District Society has worked with State Water Resources Planning Dept. & Irrigation Dept. GOR in project of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) in Block Baitu, Shiv, Sum, Sindhari and currently working in Bikaner district. SR Society is working in Mokhumpura Cluster, District Jaipur and has formed MTG’s in the cluster. Society is providing orientation, IEC, Community Mobilisation, strengthening to Multi Task groups for the development and management of watershed & pastureland, Horticulture and agriculture improvement with the help of Cluster Agriculture competitiveness project, Mokhumpura.
